The University of Texas Medical Branch’s first baby of the new year arrived not long after the clock tolled in 2015. A baby girl, weighing in at 5 pounds, 5 ounces, was born at 12:39 a.m. Thursday morning. Swaddled in pink cloths, Baby Iordache’s parents, mom Larisa and dad Marius Serbarumariu, were shy when visited by The Daily News, but said they were excited by the arrival of their first child. So excited, that they hadn’t picked out a name yet. The family was not without company Thursday. By 1 p.m., at least 10 children had been born in Galveston, doctors in the John Sealy Hospital’s newborn nursery said.
