GALVESTON, Texas ? The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston will host the first Southwest Regional Global Health Education Conference in November. Sponsored by the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Training in International Health at UTMB, the conference will provide an opportunity for health professionals and students to learn about training and career opportunities in global health and discuss public health issues.
Leaders in international health will cover topics related to improving global health through prevention and management and a poster session will show outcomes of international efforts to improve health across the globe. An international photography exhibit by students will also be on display.
The conference will be held Nov. 10-11 at Levin Hall on the UTMB campus in Galveston. The deadline for early registration is Oct. 1 but participants may register until the day of the conference.
