UTMB is is expanding its Collaborative Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program to all University of Texas campuses. The program was established in 2014 to provide entrepreneurship training to medical professionals. Programs include courses of study in business, bio-medical science ventures and a pitch contest for program participants. In its inaugural year, the program helped spawn a number of early-stage bio-med venture businesses such as Houston-based venture Riha Life, a startup that is developing a device for the treatment of cystic fibrosis and chronic airway obstruction.
