The article describes UTMB’s Innovation Forerunner’s program, which is designed to enhance UTMB’s services and improve satisfaction with customers and providers. In the program, UTMB nursing staff take classes to augment their innovation knowledge and skills and how to apply it to their duties. The class partners with businesses in the Galveston area to allow nurses to see how non-health care businesses focus on client needs. Some business partners include Kroger, Walmart, Farley Girls Café and the Grand Theater.
