Teens’ use of social media continues to expand and it is important that parents know what their teens are doing online. Research conducted by UTMB’s Jeff Temple found that sexting appears to be an indicator of general sexual activity, as opposed to risky sexual behavior, and thus it may be a new normal part of adolescent sexual development.
