UTMB researchers are working on a vaccine against plague. In a recent paper UTMB’s Ashok Chopra and his team tested potential vaccines that created long-term immune responses in mice and rats. Chopra told Guidry News that climate change and natural disasters as well as weather conditions create scenarios that make the plague more prevalent.
