UTMB’s Rakez Kayed and Erin Hommel were featured in a TMC News story on Alzheimer’s. Kayed spoke about his latest research, which found a relationship between inflammation, a toxic protein and the onset of Alzheimer’s. While there isn’t treatment to reverse memory loss and dementia, Hommel, who treats patients with Alzheimer’s, said one of the most important treatments is regular physical and mental exercise.
