Survivors of adolescent and young adult cancer are more likely to report financial concerns that often result in them not taking a medication as prescribed, according to research conducted by UTMB’s Sapna Kaul. Research findings indicated the likelihood of reporting not being able to afford medication, asking for lower-cost medication and using alternative therapies to save money in the previous year was higher among survivors who were diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 39 years.
