UTMB is in a national competition for the best ideas in biomedical science. It’s a contest run by STAT, a national online publication focused on science, medicine, scientific discovery. They call it STAT Madness and the contest runs similar to the college basketball March Madness. It’s meant to be fun and also raise awareness about the importance of scientific research. The Media Relations team submitted several UTMB studies and the STAT editors chose two to be in the Fan Favorite category: One is about Zika and the other is about multiple sclerosis.
