Research on a severe form of morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum, is the subject of this week’s column. It is not uncommon for many women to experience mild morning sickness but for those with HG the symptoms are much more serious. An expectant mother with HG may experience persistent nausea and vomiting, weight loss, dehydration, dizziness, constipation and extreme odor sensitivity. Daughters of a mother with HG are 27 times more likely to experience HG. The Galveston County Daily News also publishes Medical Discovery News.
