Research finds that while trying to lose weight, dealing with a chronic illness, or facing hospitalization, older adults need to consume more protein-rich foods. In the story UTMB’s Elena Volpi says, “The total dose that you eat may not matter as much as the dose you eat at a given meal.” Volpi suggest that older adults eat 25 to 30 grams of protein per meal.
