The Navy’s process allowing pilots to report what most people call UFOs was in the news this past week. UTMB’s Brian Pinkston said there are several factors that could be contributing to the reports. One of those, autokinesis, give the illusion that a stationary point of light is moving when viewed against a dark, featureless background. “Your eyes have some inherent movement in them, and it will make it appear as if the object is moving,” said Pinkston. The Philadelphia Inquirer, Centre Daily Times, and Military.com also reported this story.
