Non-medical exemptions for vaccines on the rise in schools

In Texas, the number of parents opting out of vaccinating their children for reasons of conscience or personal belief are on the rise. The number of parents opting out in Galveston County is also rising mirroring the rest of the state. There are many factors involved that are contributing to the rise, one being that parents have never seen actual cases of the diseases children are vaccinated against. “We don’t see kids get really sick any more with these diseases, and we don’t have a constant reminder that this is why we vaccinate,” said UTMB’s Richard Rupp. [See the attached file for the full text of the story.]
