UTMB plans world's second extreme medicine program

A local news report on efforts by UTMB’s Cheryl Lowry and Brian Pinkston to launch the world’s second advanced degree program in the field of extreme medicine. If approved by the Texas Higher Education Commission, the master’s degree in extreme medicine will begin its first class for anyone with a bachelor’s degree working in a medical field. “We’re talking about practicing medicine from the bottom of the ocean to outer space,” Pinkston said.
