Galveston Daily News, Dec. 6, 2006http://news.galvestondailynews.com/story.lasso?ewcd=b3d1e141721ab283 By Jim Reinhartsen Galveston County Judge Jim Yarbrough expressed it best when he said: This is the first time that I'm aware of that the municipalities, counties, petrochemical, medical, federal and state groups have come together on common ground and had a focused discussion about a common need. What Judge Yarbrough was referring to was the recent "Burns, Bugs, and blasts" conference at the San Luis Resort. It was unique because it brought a diverse group of the regional players together to discuss what would happen if a terrorist event took place in our region that involved the release of an airborne infectious agent, the detonation of a dirty bomb or an explosion at one of the refineries.
