Galveston County Daily News, Feb. 4, 2007 GALVESTON - The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston will be host of a seminar by bestselling author John Bradshaw March 14. Bradshaw, an expert on family, substance abuse and addiction, will speak on "The Affect System and Brain Research: The New Frontier of Addiction" as part of a lecture series sponsored by the UTMB Center for Addiction Research and the UTMB Office of Community Outreach. Kathryn Cunningham, director of the UTMB Center for Addiction Research, said she appreciated Bradshaw's efforts to understand the links between the brain mechanisms that underlie addiction and emotion and mood.
