Galveston County Daily News, March 4, 2007 GALVESTON -  The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston ranked 10th among Texas universities for the amount of funds contributed by private donors for its support in 2006, according to a national survey conducted by the Council for Aid to Education. Contributors made commitments of $54 million, including $36 million in cash to UTMB in 2006. UTMB was ranked 12th in 2005.  "UTMB is proud to be an institution worthy of such support," said Susan Coulter, vice president for the Office of University Advancement. "From philanthropic partnerships to the participation of our work force in charitable giving, we are grateful for the many benefactors who have provided critical support for education, research and innovations in clinical care."
