UTMB seeking Group O blood donations March 12, 2007 Houston Chronicle, March 9, 2007 GALVESTON -- The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston is facing a critical and unprecedented shortage of Group O blood, according to a news release. Group O blood can be given to anyone regardless of their blood type, and donations are urgently needed, the release states. Everyone, particularly Group O donors, is encouraged to stop by the Blood Bank to make a donation. The bank is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 409-772-4861 to make an appointment.
