Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel, March 27, 2007 NACOGDOCHES -- It has almost been two years since that first shotgun blast blew off her elbow... almost two years since Jennifer Holliday watched helplessly as her 18-year-old cousin took a second point-blank shot to the head.... almost two years since she was beaten on a deserted county road in Angelina County, before being held captive and tortured. And it has been almost two years since she heard that calm, reassuring voice on the other end of the 9-1-1 call - telling her that she was going to make it through, and to hang in there because everything was going to be OK. On Thursday, in front of thousands of viewers and a live studio audience, Holliday will finally meet the voice on the other end of the line - police dispatcher Stephanie Davidson.  Since that night she's had five surgeries on her arm, replacing muscle, dealing with a hole in her bone, trying to fight off infections from the 37 shotgun pellets still inside her left arm and three more embedded deep in her right arm.  With the help of former state Sen. Todd Staples, Holliday said she was able to get into a program at UTMB in Galveston, and other local organizations have helped out with medications and gasoline costs. She should be going to physical therapy a lot more than she does, but she can only afford to make the Galveston trip about once a month.
