Baytown Sun, March 28, 2007 BAYTOWN - Retired ophthalmologist Dr. Richard Thomson didn't graduate from the University of Texas, but that doesn't mean he isn't one of Baytown's proudest Longhorns. He left Austin in 1954 for the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he ultimately earned his medical degree in 1959. He interned at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston and was a resident at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.
