Galveston County Daily News, March 31, 2007 AUSTIN - The Texas House passed budget bills Friday that included several decisions on funding for the University of Texas Medical Branch, Texas A&M University at Galveston, Galveston College and College of the Mainland. The measures won't receive final approval until after the Senate and House hammer out a compromise about their respective budget bills. Under the version passed by the House on Friday, UTMB will receive $13.1 million for losses due to the Hurricane Rita evacuation.
