Four finalists for UTMB president April 9, 2007 Galveston County Daily News, April 7, 2007 GALVESTON - A committee charged with finding the next president of the University of Texas Medical Branch has narrowed the list to four candidates, including an island doctor and another who would be the first African-American to lead the institution. University of Texas System officials Friday released the list of candidates to replace Dr. John Stobo, who said he would resign Aug. 31.
