Petroleum Association, Odessa Chamber roll out insurance plan alternative April 12, 2007 Midland Reporter-Telegram, April 11, 2007 MIDLAND - Small businesses in the Permian Basin that may have dropped or never offered insurance will have a chance to offer insurance through FirstCare, a program unveiled in Midland on Tuesday. Some 110 people attended the rollout at the Petroleum Club. To offer the plan, FirstCare must sign up 2,000 people by June 1. The Permian Basin Petroleum Association and Odessa Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Midland Memorial Hospital, Medical Center Hospital and Alliance Hospital to offer care under the plan. The Midland Chamber is looking to participate in the 3-Share program, proposed by the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston.
