UCLA exec picked to become next UTMB president April 17, 2007 The Associated Press, April 17, 2007 GALVESTON, Texas - The CEO of the University of California at Los Angeles Hospital System has been named the sole finalist to become the next president of the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. The UT System Board of Regents selected Dr. David L. Callender, 49, on Monday after meeting with four finalists.
