Galveston County Daily News, April 21, 2007 GALVESTON - The Sealy & Smith Foundation has given $4 million to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. Officials said the center is being transformed into an advanced clinical resource for patients with cancer. Dr. Mark Evers, director of the UTMB center, said this funding supports the university's efforts to create a new approach where clinical care is delivered alongside ongoing basic and applied research and prevention and education.
