Device One Of Only Three In The World May 7, 2007 Tyler Morning Telegraph, May 6, 2007 TYLER -- One of three units in the world to measure levels of a blood component is found at Langsjoen Cardiology Research Laboratory in Tyler. Alena Langsjoen, wife of cardiologist Peter Langsjoen, measures CoQ10, vitamin E, total cholesterol and calculated CoQ10 to cholesterol ratio on this Japanese-made unit. Mrs. Langsjoen, who holds a Master of Science degree in physical chemistry from The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, said the machine was put into use in March 2004. Her family moved to the United States in 1970 and she met her husband at UT-Austin in 1973 when they were undergraduates majoring in chemistry in an organic chemistry laboratory.
