Galveston County Daily News, May 9, 2007 GALVESTON - The president of global health programs for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Dr. Tadataka Yamada, will speak about improving the health of people with infectious diseases in developing countries at a forum Thursday at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Yamada, the leader of the Gates Foundation's efforts to produce low-cost, life-saving health care programs for the developing world, said he believes it is possible to make real-time improvements in the health status of people with such diseases as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.
