Stark Foundation to sponsor free mammograms through Gift of Life program May 9, 2007 Orange County News, May 9, 2007 ORANGE - The Gift of Life program will provide nearly 40 free mammograms and clinical breast exams for medically underserved women from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at the Orange Public Library. Since the inception of the Gift of Life breast cancer initiative in Orange County in 2000, the Nelda C. and H.J. Lutcher Stark Foundation has helped make available nearly 1,000 free mammograms for medically underserved women on the UTMB mobile mammography van and at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital, Orange. More than 20 women with abnormal clinical breast exams have been referred to the University of Texas Medical Branch- Galveston for diagnostic testing. Gift of Life hosted a van site in February at the Orange library and two more sites are planned during the months of August and October. « Back | The Newsroom »
