Brazosport Facts, June 30, 2007 ANGLETON - An Angleton man remained at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston on Friday recovering from injuries he sustained from a lightning strike. Jonathan Crabtree, 22, was near the first fairway of the Austin Bayou Golf Course near Danbury on Monday afternoon when he was hit by a bolt of lightning, said Will Garrett, course superintendent. "He was right off the fairway on No. 1," Garrett said. "It was the first bolt of lightning that we got." Crabtree suffered a gash to his right shoulder and the heels of his shoes were blown out, Garrett said. "He wasn't breathing and he didn't have a pulse," Garrett said. "We got him into the barn and resuscitated him." Crabtree was taken to Angleton Danbury Medical Center and then transferred Tuesday to the burn center at the University of Texas Medical Branch. He was sitting up, eating and in good condition at the burn center late Friday, said his father, Scott Crabtree.
