County Line for July 07, 2007 Galveston County Daily News, July 7, 2007 Creating Pathways to Success is accepting applications into its program that helps participants take themselves off public assistance. The organization, which is supported by a grant from the United Way of Galveston's community investment initiative, helps provide training and education assistance for people to enter new careers or advance in their present jobs. The application deadline is July 27. Information sessions for potential applicants have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the Island Community Center, 4700 Broadway, Galveston. Applicants are not required to attend these sessions. Creating Pathways to Success operates in partnership with the University of Texas Medical Branch, The WorkSource, Galveston College, the Galveston Housing Authority and St. Vincent's House.
