KHOU.com July 8, 2007 The Coast Guard found a kayaker floating facedown in the water near Surfside Sunday afternoon. Coast Guard Station Freeport got a call around 1 p.m. reporting a person in the water and dispatched a rescue boat. The crew spotted the man floating next to a kayak. They immediately began resuscitation and took the man to Station Freeport, where he was Life Flighted to UTMB in Galveston.
