Galveston County Daily News July 13, 2007 Members of the Galveston Historical Foundation approved the selection of Raymond Lewis as board president for 2007-2008 at the foundation's annual meeting Thursday. Lewis, an associate dean with the University of Texas Medical Branch's school of allied health sciences, succeeds Elizabeth "Bets" Anderson, who remains one of the board's five officers. It was Lewis who led negotiations with developers Judy and John Saracco that led to the recent donation of the island's historic Rosewood Cemetery to the historical foundation.
