Midwives to open women's health center July 17, 2007 Kingwood Observer, July 17, 2007 KINGWOOD -- When the long-awaited day has arrived and it is time to welcome a new little one into the world, Reunion Women's Health & Birth Center, located near Kingwood Medical Center, will offer a relaxing environment for the mom-to-be. A babbling creek filled with Koi flowing through the complex will provide a sense of calm before entering the door to the facility. Upon entering, sweeping arches and art niches add to the warm feeling that will invite women inside. This is the vision of two longtime friends, Janet Little, and Polly Logan, who bubble over with excitement in anticipation of the new 3,300-square-foot facility that is expected to open in late August. The two longtime Kingwood residents are excited about rekindling a friendship that began as they worked as labor and delivery nurses at Memorial Hermann Northeast. They discovered that they shared a common passion: to become midwives. Together they drove to Galveston three days a week to further their studies at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Each received her Master of Science in Nursing, which enables them to serve the community as midwives. « Back | The Newsroom »
