Pasadena News Citizen, July 20, 2007 PASADENA -  San Jacinto College is keeping in step with the times with development of two new "hybrid" biology courses, as well as 10 related "virtual" labs. The hybrid biology courses and virtual labs are being developed by Dr. Kelly Mizell, biology professor at San Jacinto College North. Some aspects of the hybrid courses will be in use this fall in Mizell's biology classes and the full virtual labs are scheduled to be online by fall, 2008. Funding for the project was awarded by the National Science Foundation, an independent U.S. government agency that promotes science and engineering through research programs and educational projects. Colleges collaborating with San Jacinto College in the project include UH-CL, TSU and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
