Dark Cloud' Lifted From Pou July 25, 2007 WDSU Channel 6 New Orleans, LA, July 24 NEW ORLEANS - Fighting back tears at times, the doctor accused of killing patients in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina thanked her supporters just hours after learning that an Orleans Parish grand jury declined to indict her in the case. But Dr. Anna Pou refused to call the decision a triumph Tuesday afternoon, saying "the last 23 months have been very painful" for the families of people who died at Memorial Medical Center after the storm, two fellow nurses and herself. Dr. Pou, a native of New Orleans, received her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Dr. Pou served on the faculty in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for 7 where she was the Director, Division of Head and Neck Surgery from 1999 to 2004 and the Co-Director of the Fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery from 1998 to 1999.
