GALVESTON, Texas — Patients and caregivers are invited to attend a free workshop on prostate cancer from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the William Temple Episcopal Center, 427 Market St. (east entrance), in Galveston.

The Cancer Nutrition Network for Texans sponsors the workshop, which is funded by the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and the Texas Cancer Council. The workshop is titled “Creating Cancer Teams: A Workshop for Patients and Caregivers,” a part of the Man-to-Man Prostate Cancer Support Group.

A UTMB team, lead by Billy Philips, a professor in UTMB’s Department of Preventive Medicine and Community Health, will discuss nutrition and exercise during and after cancer treatment, symptom management, emotional issues and transition planning for prostate cancer survivors. A question and answer session will follow
