Austin American Statesman, Aug. 25, 2007 Dr. Mathis Blackstock received the 2007 Physician Emeritus award from the Texas Academy of Family Physicians. Blackstock, who was awarded his medical degree from UTMB Galveston in 1948, has 38 years of active medical practice experience and more than 25 years as an educator for family medicine residents in the Austin area. He served as attending physician and faculty member for the family practice residency program in Austin and the preceptorship program with UTMB Galveston.
