GALVESTON, Texas - The Galveston Chamber of Commerce and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston will present "Celebrating Women ... Mind, Body, Spirit" from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Galveston Island Convention Center at the San Luis Resort. The conference is an opportunity for the women of the Houston/Galveston area to come together in celebration of womanhood and hear national speakers present topics of interest to women.

Kicking off the morning will be keynote speaker Kathleen Passanisi, who will deliver "Ladies, Life & Laughter," a humorous presentation on life balance. Following is Patty Mayeux, author of "Beautiful Women: A New Definition," who will present "3D Beauty: How to Create Your Own Unique Brand." UTMB physicians will follow with the latest information on women's health.

Lunch will be provided as Passanisi provides more laughs with "Choosing to Live a Balanced Life." After lunch Jim Camp, negotiation expert, will speak on "Women & Negotiations, The Greatest Advantage." Rounding out the afternoon will be Karen Magee, national lecturer and workshop leader, who will present "Our Lifetime Journeys: The Girl and The Woman."
