Galveston County Daily News, Oct. 10, 2007 Houston's John P. McGovern Foundation has contributed an additional $1 million to UTMB to bolster its commitment to humane, patient-centered care. The endowment has created the John P. McGovern Distinguished Chair in Oslerian Medicine, to be held by a faculty member who will work with the medical branch's John P. McGovern Academy of Oslerian Medicine and the School of Medicine. The first holder of the distinguished chair is Dr. John D. Stobo.
