Galveston County Daily News, Oct. 19, 2007 A seasonal respiratory infection that can cause serious illness and even death in infants, small children and the elderly has arrived early, already causing two babies to be hospitalized at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Antonella Casola, a UTMB pediatric infectious disease specialist said early cases could be predictors of a bad season.
