GALVESTON, Texas - Just in time for the holiday season, the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston has scheduled a series of five cooking classes for people who have diabetes.
"Whisking Your Way to Health, a Program for Cooking Healthy," starts Nov. 29. The classes will be held at the Texas Cooperative Extension office at 5115 Hwy. 3, in Dickinson.
The classes will meet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Here is the schedule:
Nov. 29 - Cooking with less sugar, fat and sodium
Dec. 6 - Choosing foods with vitamins, minerals and fiber
Dec. 13 - Adding flavor with herbs, spices, citrus and vegetables
Dec. 20 - Portion size
Jan. 3 - Grocery store tour
