Houston Chronicle, Dec. 14, 2007 Frederick Rice Lummis Jr., one of more than a dozen court-designated heirs to the estate of the deceased reclusive billionaire Howard Hughes, died Thursday at Houston's Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness including a recent bout with pneumonia. He was 76. Lummis graduated from UTMB in 1956.
