Austin American-Statesman, Jan. 25, 2008 AUSTIN - Brackenridge Hospital has a new name: the University Medical Center at Brackenridge. The change is meant to reflect affiliations with the University of Texas at Austin, UTMB, Texas Tech and other schools. Hospital administrators hope that the new name will attract more privately insured patients.
