GALVESTON, Texas - A member the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief/Emergency Plan will deliver the second in a series of lectures on global health being held at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

The lecture by Dr. Nathanial Smith, senior technical adviser, East Africa Region, PEPFAR AIDS Relief, will be at noon Wednesday in Levin Hall South.  The event is free and open to the public.

Smith will present "AIDS Relief: a public health model for HIV care in Kenya."

Smith also serves as infectious diseases consultant at AIC Kijabe Hospital, Kenya, and is assistant professor of medicine at the Institute of Human Virology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Smith will be at UTMB as a guest lecturer for the new Intensive Tropical and Travel Medicine course led by Dr. Clinton White, division chief of Infectious Diseases at UTMB.

The PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center for Training in International Health is sponsoring the lecture as part of the Global Health Lecture Series.
