Houston Chronicle Bay Area, Feb. 14, 2008 The National Institute on Drug Abuse has awarded UTMB researchers a four-year, $3.4 million grant to develop what may become the first effective drugs to help people conquer cocaine addiction. Also, Alan Barrett has been named director of the Sealy Center for Vaccine Development and Lisa D. Cain, associate professor in the neurosciences and cell biology department, traveled to the Ghanaian Embassy in Washington, D.C., Feb. 2 to join an effort to raise funds for the Korle-Bu Neuroscience Center in Accra, Ghana.
