Research from University of Texas provides new data about HIV/AIDS February 29, 2008 Calibre MacroWorld, Feb. 28, 2008 This study, published in AIDS Care, focused on psychiatric disorders and their association with risk behaviors for HIV and hepatitis in prison populations. The authors concluded, "It will be important for future investigations to examine the extent to which psychiatric disorders serve as a barrier to medical care, communication with clinicians and adherence to prescribed medical regimens among both HIV-mono-infected and HIV/hepatitis-co-infected inmates."
