Galveston County Daily News, March 21, 2008 Harris L. "Shrub" Kempner Jr. and Hetta "Peaches" Towler Kempner will be honored March 29 as the recipients of the 17th annual Leonora Kempner Thompson Community Enrichment Award. Peaches Kempner has logged more 2,500 volunteer hours at UTMB. Shrub Kempner's has chaired two major fundraising campaigns for UTMB.
