Galveston County Daily News, March 24, 2008 City officials and members of several downtown groups are working together on a new master plan to bring a year-round economic boost to the downtown area. City Manager Steve LeBlanc said the city intended to take charge of the process and was willing to provide $75,000 for the plan's development. UTMB also offered to contribute some funds for the proposed study, he said.
