Austin Business Journal, April 11, 2008 AUSTIN - With the creation of its first research administration office, the Seton Family of Hospitals is seeing its efforts to increase research systemwide start to pay off. Simultaneously, Seton is moving closer to its goal of reaching a Level 1 trauma center designation at the University Medical Center at Brackenridge. The push to ramp up research done in the Seton system and at Brackenridge has been going on for years, says Dr. Sam Shomaker, dean of UTMB's Austin programs.
