Galveston County Daily News, May 12, 2008 The city council has blessed an agreement between its Redevelopment Authority and local developer Sullivan Interests to work toward legislation that will enable the development of the East End Flats. The first 100 acres of the site will likely be developed with an independent and assisted-living facility flanked by commercial or research developments, elements requested by UTMB. The buildings will not be owned by the medical school, however, which will keep them on the city's tax rolls.
